Dear Parents,

Between now and May 29, Scott 3rd-5th grade students will be participating in a number of State assessments in English Language Arts, Math, and Science. By working together, we can make your child’s test experience positive and successful.

Note: If you know in advance that your children will be missing school anytime during these weeks, please contact your child’s teacher ahead of time.
Our students have been using the Smarter Balanced practice tests. If you would like to check them out, you can view them at http://sbac.portal.airast.org/practice-test/.
For more information about Smarter Balanced, please visit the Smarter Balanced website at http://www.smarterbalanced.org.

These new assessments measure real-world skills like critical thinking and problem solving. In addition, they provide information to give teachers and parents a better picture of where students are succeeding and where they need help. Thank you for supporting your child and our school during this test.

Sara Casebeer, Principal
